Subsidy
SDE++ subsidies for biomethane / anaerobic digestion
SDE++ — biomethaan / vergisting
Two-framework evaluation · independent scoring
CRCF (certification)Partial
EU Biomass Strategy (allocation)Not aligned
↯ Two-framework dissonance — CRCF assessment differs from EU Biomass Strategy assessment. The asymmetry is the signal, not a defect.

Dutch SDE++ scheme tops up the price of renewable energy production — including biomethane from anaerobic digestion of agricultural biomass. CRCF-adjacent (biomethane substitution can be accounted as avoided emissions in some frameworks) but misaligned with the cascading-use principle in RED II Article 3(3) where the same straw, manure, or perennial-crop feedstock could be cascaded into bio-materials or long-life products first.

Article 3(3) and recital 16 establish the EU cascading-use principle for biomass. This is the legally binding anchor against which ABCDEX scores biomassStrategyAlignment until the forthcoming EU Biomass Strategy is formally adopted.
