DR 02 – Agri environment and Climate on Arable Land

A Romanian CAP rural-development intervention (€104.69M allocated) that pays farmers non-repayable grants to adopt and maintain climate-friendly practices on arable land — extensive farming, green crops, soil protection, carbon sequestration, biodiversity and water management, plus dedicated feeding areas for the red-necked goose and the lesser spotted eagle. It runs five packages with continuous compliance monitoring. Early results show higher soil organic matter, better crop resilience and lower yield losses under drought — a replicable model for integrating economic, environmental and climate objectives in arable farming.
